The agreement establishes a framework to evaluate oil and gas projects and share technical expertise.
Petrobras signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Mozambique's National Hydrocarbons Company (ENH) on September 22, 2026. The agreement establishes a cooperative framework across several segments of the energy value chain, including joint studies, project evaluation, development, and commercialization.
The MoU was signed by Sylvia Anjos, director of Exploration and Production at Petrobras, and Jonilton Pessoa, executive manager of Exploration. ENH was represented by Rudêncio Morais, chairman of the board of directors, and administrator Alegria Cossa.
The agreement will remain in effect for two years and can be renewed by mutual consent. While the MoU does not commit either company to specific capital investments or production targets, it enables both parties to exchange technical expertise and assess opportunities in Mozambique's natural gas and broader energy market.
