DocuSign launches MCP server to power enterprise AI agents

DocuSign announced the global availability of its Model Context Protocol (MCP) server for artificial intelligence agents. The release allows platforms such as Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot, and Slack to natively access contract analysis and management tools powered by the DocuSign Iris AI engine.

The company operates electronic signature integrations across more than 1,100 partner-developed applications. With the new server, enterprise AI agents can review negotiation history, accepted terms, clauses, and company policies within intelligent agreement management and contract lifecycle workflows.

The system offers bidirectional integration, pulling data from systems like Oracle while extending contract tools into platforms including Slack, Perplexity, and Salesforce. Salesforce, which named DocuSign its Partner of the Year, is using Iris alongside Agentforce to manage deals and contract renewals. Experian is also among the early enterprise adopters testing the technology to automate drafting and contract lifecycles.

CEO Allan Thygesen stated that AI agents need a robust structure to analyze terms and execute end-to-end contract workflows with strict governance. DocuSign currently serves more than 1.9 million customers and reaches over one billion users across more than 180 countries.
