A pilot project in Mexico City turns convenience stores into pick-up and return hubs.
FEMSA is entering the e-commerce delivery market through its convenience store chain Oxxo. On 5 September 2026, details emerged of an alliance between Oxxo and Cubbo, a Colombian logistics technology firm with operations in Mexico, to offer package pick-up and return points for online purchases.
The rollout started as a pilot test in selected Oxxo stores across Mexico City. Participating locations will join Cubbitos, Cubbo's network of physical pick-up points. The move allows Oxxo to compete in the logistics space against companies such as Amazon, Mercado Libre, and Estafeta.
Cubbo reported that it currently operates more than 3,500 active collection points across all 32 states of Mexico. Through this direct integration with Oxxo, customers buying from direct-to-consumer and e-commerce brands like Birdman, Varone Fragances, B-Fit, and Twins & Icons can select a store to retrieve or return parcels rather than waiting for home deliveries.
Following the initial pilot in Mexico City, Cubbo plans a progressive expansion of the service to build a nationwide network across Oxxo locations.
