A five-year contract will supply up to 60 million cubic feet per day starting in November.
Ecopetrol will receive up to 60 million cubic feet per day (Mpcd) of natural gas from the Pacific Regasification plant. The supply is secured through a five-year contract that includes options for indefinite renewal. Operations are scheduled to begin on 1 November.
Colombia is turning to regasification imports to meet domestic demand following drops in local gas production. The new plant will become Colombia's second operational regasification facility, joining the Spec plant in Cartagena. Alcanos has also signed a contract for 20 Mpcd under the same project, set to start deliveries on 1 January 2027.
The floating storage unit Tura departed its shipyard in China on 8 September. Following a technical refueling stop in Hong Kong, the 30-day Pacific journey will bring the vessel to permanent positioning in Buenaventura in early October 2026. A second vessel, Pargo Rojo, will carry cryogenic ISO containers and is scheduled to sail on 18 September, arriving in late October 2026.
The project will move 72 cryogenic containers by road between Buenaventura and the regasification facility in Buga. The regasified fuel will then enter Colombia's national transport system via the TGI pipeline network.
