Erin Brewer will retire after helping the company achieve GAAP profitability and over $2 billion in free cash flow.
Lyft announced on September 9, 2026, that Michael Brous has been appointed Chief Financial Officer, effective September 28, 2026. Brous succeeds Erin Brewer, who plans to retire and will stay with the company as an advisor through December 15, 2026, to assist with the handover.
Brous joined Lyft in 2018 through its acquisition of Motivate and has served in senior management for nearly eight years. He currently heads Lyft Urban Solutions, managing over 195,000 bikes across 55 systems globally, and leads the Safety and Customer Care teams, which handle over 1.5 million interactions each month.
Brewer joined Lyft in 2023. During her tenure as CFO, the company achieved GAAP profitability and generated over $2 billion in free cash flow.
Alongside the management change, Lyft reaffirmed its third-quarter 2026 guidance for Gross Bookings, Adjusted EBITDA, and Adjusted EBITDA margin originally issued on August 6, 2026. The company plans to release its third-quarter financial results in November 2026.
